Here is Helen's Vintage Hearts Quilt. I really wish that I would have taken more pictures of this quilt as I don't feel that what I have here truly captures all of the detail and beauty that was put into this quilt.
For most of the applique I just outlined and then did lots of fun background filler to give lots of texture! I also separated each block by creating some decorative columns with flowers within each circle that conjoins them. Some of the larger appliqued pieces I did quilt up a fun design, not only because they were larger pieces but to also break it up a bit. I really feel that this quilt is one that you can just keep looking at viewing all the different applique pieces and quilting switch ups. The center piece of the quilt I had decided that it would be really fun to add some linear designs. There are so many things to take in with this quilt. If you get a chance to see this quilt in person, Helen may have it up at her shop. Helen is super sweet and I'm sure she would love to show and tell! Leave a comment and tell me what you think.

As you can see there is absolutely no shortage of pictures here! I took so many photos, but I just couldn't help myself. I really want for all of you to be able see the beauty within this quilt. There are so many aspects of beauty within the construction all the way down to the quilting. When this quilt is turned over and you look at the back side, the individual blocks remind me of snow flakes. Each one unique and different in it's own way and each one is so beautiful!
Tell me what you think! This Carolyn's quilt! It is so cute! I love her vibrant colors with all of the fun prints! What is there not to like about this?????? Nothing I tell you! It is fabulous!
With this quilt since the top is very fun and busy I decided to quilt this quilt reverse. That means that I put the top on the bottom and then quilted this up more like a whole cloth quilt. There are 3 big hexigon style stars with lots of quilting design and then I did wavy line as the back ground filler, this made for some amazing texture! Great for the little one running their fingers across the quilt! Tell me what you think. |
