This is Megan's little boys quilt! I took a ton of pictures, hope you don't mind....There is alot of negative space which gave me the opportunity to play with the quilting! The quilt top I made inset circles, strips, and blocks! What do you think? Do you like it too? Can see the words quilted within the quilt? Take a look at what else I had made for Megan! I just couldn't help myself! I love make fun stuff!!!! I do have to say though that the hoodie is my favorite! this is because it looks sooooo cozy! Take a look and tell me what you think! I do have to tell you that sometimes you get an idea in your head and you just can't find the fabric you are looking for. This was the case for me when it came to this little outfit. So, what I did was hit the mens clearance rack at Old Navy, grabbed an XL in a gray sweat shirt and an XL T. There you go, all the fabric I needed at a reasonable price! Then I just cut up the sweatshirt and T into what I planned on making and there you go!
This is Bonne's quilt, the pattern is Transitions. Isn't it just gorgeous! I quilted feathers and flowers through the middle section and then within the boarders had some fun with geometric shapes, lines, and paisley's! Tell me what you think!
Happy quilting! This lovely quilt was a group effort. Everyone within the clinic I work each made a block and wrote or embroidered a message for Dr. Buie. When all of the blocks were completed, I went to my friend Kathi, by the way she is an amazing piecer! She squared everything all up and then put the sashing and blocks together. When she was done, I then gave this work of art to Stephanie whom then put on all the boarders. When this was completed, I then did the backing and then quilted it up as you see it here. The batting is a 20/ 30 cotton poly blend and the thread is a gold made by Glide. I love Glide metalics, they are amazing to work with and look at how amazing it looks with this quilt! I know that Dr. Buie will Cherish this forever, each endearing message for a wonderful person ready for a new chapter in his life!
Lot's of pictures here to look at! I was trying to capture every aspect of this quilt and I think you get the idea with all of the pics. :) What can I say, I really do like patriotic themed quilts and this one is just amazing! I love how the quilting has really added texture to the quilt too! There is a lot of quilting, as we all know I like to quilt dense, but with the color change in threads it is not over bearing.
