Thank You Generation Q!!!! Breast Cancer Awareness Quilt
Here it is! I just love this quilt! My inspiration for this quilt came from an annual event that Trendy Threads has participated in for the last three years, it is "The Cut Down for Cancer", www.cutdowncancer.org/. This quilt will be auctioned off at the yearly event and the proceeds will go for cancer research. If you live in the Eugene/ Springfield Oregon area, or are here visiting, make sure to stop by Piece by Piece fabrics on 13th street in Eugene to see this quilt in person. Thanks for looking and visit my blog, What events do you participate in?

Finished Quilts:

Here is my latest creation!
I am totally loving how this quilt came out. Believe it or not, the batting used for this quilt is 100% polyester! This is the most amazing batting I have used yet! This is made by Quilters Dream and is the Deluxe Dream Poly weighty loft. Has a super nice weight to it like cotton but you get the nice loft of the poly. This is very resistant to wrinkles, creases, and fold lines! Perfect! Click on the picture to go to my blog, view more pictures of this fabulous quilt and the pattern used!
Sooooooo, this is my experiment.....

This is something that I had created with the idea in mind that I wanted a lot of wide open space for quilting. I used a mulberry color thread and scraps except for the cream color back ground and the dark brown backing. This will also be trimmed up bound in the dark brown. Click on the photo go to my blog for more pictures!
All Done! I love it!

Marvin's U of O quilt!
Thought you might like to see some more finished quilts.
This quilt and pillow was one that I made for my Mom. The pattern is Mirror Mirror, but I modified it just a bit. The center piece is a solid canvas block that I silk screened and then added crystals with my really cool hot tool after I finished quilting it!

Here is the swoon Quilt that I just finished! I love this pattern and love this fabric too! One of the things that I really like about this pattern is that it is Fat Quarter friendly! So, if you like lots of different fabrics this is a perfect pattern for you! The pattern does call for 18 Fat Quarters and then your background fabric, I chose 9 Fat Quarters, my background fabric and then another solid to give the look you see here.
Closer look!

Along the boarder I did some feathering using purple thread, actually the color is called berry, and I did an all over swirl design in background using the color buff. This is a new that I just purchased to try out and I love it! This thread is Superior Threads New Brytes #30/3-ply polyester and then I used Omni Thread in the bobbin. One of the things that I really like about using polyester thread is that it is much cleaner and it is strong. I guess that was two things.......
Close up of back!

This is just one of the blocks. I really couldn't decide what pattern to use within the stars, so I did three. Pebbling, shown here, a rope design, and a figure 8. This is a close up of the pebbling. You can't tell from this picture, but the backing is a light green and the straight lines, squares are in the purple (berry) thread color and the rest is in the buff color thread.
Curvy cutter put to use!

This pattern is Urban Candy by Jenny Pedigo. She has some really cool and fun patterns on her web. She has a fresh modern style that is really fun!
Back side!

Here are some close up images of the back of this quilt! This was really fun and fast to quilt! Some times the quilting design comes to you really fast, like this one did, but sometimes I have to sit back and think a bit......
Love Ring

This one was really fun, I can't take the credit for the lay out design of the quilting as I spotted this already done and fell in love with it. I spotted the quilting lay out from Jenny's blog, she does a wonderful job with her quilting and again has a very fun and fresh style!
