This is such a cute quilt! Each block was drawn up by a different family member, the only rule was that it had to be a favorite children book. Just look at the adversity here!

Pioneer Quilters Quilt show!
Here I am giving my talk and trunk show at the Pioneer's Quilt Show. My daughter came along with me and took all the pictures. She also helped me with set up and display. What a sweetie! There are many things that I'm sure my 19 year old could have done this day, but it was really nice that choose to come, see what this was all about, and spend the day with me! This really was a great time and I felt that everyone who attended got something out of it. My talk was about long arm quilting, decision making with patterns, batting, and thread use as well as color, and don't forget about tension......Tension can make or break a beautiful quilt. I had brought tons of examples of my work, Thanks so much to my customers for allowing to display the quilts that I quilted for them as I myself only have about 5 to speak of. So, this being said I ended up with 20 quilts, 3 hand bags, samples of different batting's/blog.html, threads, and also my tension helper.
My daughter took many pictures, so if you'd like to see more, click on the link and head on over to the blog!
I love this quilt! The fabrics are so retro and totally remind me of something that should have come from The Great Gatsby!

So, I did just that and I love it!!!!!

Merry Christmas! I know I'm one day late, but better late then never to wish you the best!
Aren't these snowmen sooooo adorable! I just love them! This is also another surper fun item that I made this year for a few special people. The snow men are made out of cream colored flanel, plaid flanel hats wool scarves, I baked clay for the carrot noses and painted the faces. They are glued to a painted block of wook that I used some craft snow, greenery, sticks, etc. and then glittered them up! You can never have too much glitter, right? Then they are cuddled up together in a nice quilt! The actual size measures out to be 7" long, 5" wide and 12" tall. Sorry I don't have instructions with this project to share, but wanted to share them with you as they are sooooo cute!
Have a wonderful day and I promise I will be posting more quilts very soon!
Christmas is in 2 DAYS!!!!!!

Trendy Threads Doll clothes
So, some of you know but some do not.......When I first started Trendy Threads it was designing and creating doll clothes. I had started doing this because my daughters were young and of course loved to dress their dolls. One thing that I really enjoyed about creating and making these doll clothes was to make them more contemporary. I know that this is not what everyone likes, but for my girls, they loved it! They could dress the dolls in clothing that they would, if it was sized in their size :) So this outfit you see here was made by me, my pattern too, for a friend of mine upon request. I don't sew many doll clothes anymore but when I do have the opportunity, I love it! Click on the picture to go to my blog and view more pictures.

What a very busy time this has been! For all of you Mothers and Fathers that have yet to experience this, I don't think that you can ever fully be prepared for the day. You can plan, put together, etc. but when it comes down to it.......Well, you get the picture. On the left you see the proud parents, myself, daughter, and husband. Middle picture is one of my daughters best friends and herself. Then you see my youngest (boy, going to be a sophomore in high school next year) and our oldest (going to be a junior in college this next year). I still remember when they were all so young, before starting elementary school and telling myself then; "oh you have plenty of time" meaning plenty of time to prepare for the rest of their lives.......It goes by so fast, don't rush and don't rush them, enjoy every moment.....Even when you but heads, it's only natural to not agree after all we are all individuals and we all see things in a slightly different light. Yes, we are very proud of our three and it is amazing to watch your kids grow and blossom into who they are.

Ugh! Don't you hate it when this happens?????
Working away and what do I notice when I turn the bar? EYELASHES! YIKES! So, needless to say this called for becoming "Best Friends" with the seam riper. Out came 3/4 of this row. For some reason this bobbin just wound too tight causing the top thread to be pulled too much, hence, the eyelashes.......I will say that after taking all this out and re-doing it, it looks super! Stay tuned for tomorrows post and I will show you this beauty all finished up!
What do you get with a fun doodle and these four thread color?

Free Motion Quilting
So this is a first for me. I am very new at this, so bear with me on the trials and errors as I set forth on this new venture! I started out with a mid. arm quilter, an older model, but a real work horse. This was a great machine to start out on as there were absolutely no bells or whistles. So, if something went haywire you could pretty much fix it yourself. Not something that you can really do with any of the fancy more modern machines. After about 8 months, I was given the opportunity to upgrade my equipment! I was soooooo excited! So, I sold my mid. arm and purchased a long arm 18 X 8 and a nice new frame! The set up is awesome and I am ever so grateful to have been given the opportunity to upgrade. My long arm does have a stitch regulator and a bobbin winder! This is great as I broke my bobbin winder to my sewing machine trying to wind bobbins for the mid arm........Now that I have 10 months under my belt I have entered 3 quilts into my first quilt show ever, The Coburg Quilt Show. This quilt show will be on Sat. July 28th. When I went there to drop my three off, there were so many beautiful quilts that people have done I'm so green (new) I wonder much my own will pale in comparison........
Here is a sneak peak of some of what I have done.......
This quilt is one of my favorites and one that I did on my original mid. arm. I just love birds!
Lots of pebbling and outlining really made this quilt come to life!
This is the back side of the bird quilt. I love using solid backings just so you can really enjoy the detail of the quilting! I used three thread colors on this quilt, Dark brown, grey, and a cream. This accented the top really nice and then gave a really fun element to the back!
Check out my other pages and send a blog, let me know what you think.
If you are interested in quilting services I will be posting an online form soon. Also check out my other pages, such as the hand bags and finished quilt portfolio!
